Jaleel Ahmad White is an actor and writer who is well known for his role as Steve Urkel in the sitcom Family Matters. Having experienced acting at the young age of 3 may have influenced his choices in education. Because, by 2001, White graduated at UCLA with a degree in film and television. He appeared in small roles for television shows later on.

White was only supposed to appear once in Family Matters, but since people loved his character Steve Urkel, White got to stay on the show for 204 episodes out of the 215 that aired. Considering today’s inflation, White received an equivalent of $7 million per season of Family Matters. After Family Matters, White appeared in the UPN series Grown Ups from 1999 to 2000. Later, he attended UCLA and received a degree in film and television in 2001.
