BILL MURRAY – ACTING

With a career spanning nearly 50 years, Bill Murray has been a cultural icon. After dropping out of Regis University, he started in Chicago at the improvisational troupe The Second City. He was then recruited by comedian John Belushi and eventually landed the position as a cast member of Saturday Night Live, where he got his first big break and his first Emmy. Over the years, he performed on several projects and earned countless credits. Still, his most memorable and beloved roles were Dr. Peter Venkman in the movie series Ghostbusters and Phil Connors in the 1993 movie Groundhog Day.

As of this writing, Murray lives in Charleston, South Carolina, and has been active in his community.  He also has other business ventures and investments, such as his restaurant chain Caddy Shack and other minor league sports teams. He is also known for his less-than-desirable conduct, leading to fellow comedian Dan Aykroyd branding him as the “Murricane.” However, Murry said that he only makes outbursts to the people he doesn’t like working with.
