KAREN ALLEN – ACTING
Karen Allen is best known for her role as Marion Ravenwood in the Indiana Jones series, but she has also dabbled in many ventures throughout her career. After spending her early acting career in theater, she got her first major role in the 1978 movie National Lampoon’s Animal House. Her performance in the film landed her big break as Marion Ravenwood in Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first Indiana Jones movie. She reprised her role as Ravenwood in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Cyrstal Skull, released in 2008. She also starred in the critically-acclaimed film Starman and Scrooged. Outside of film, she has been closely associated with the Berkshire Theater Group, having directed and produced several plays.
She has one son, personal chef Nicholas, from her marriage with Kale Browne from 1988 to 1998. After the birth of her son, she slowed down her career to focus on raising him. She also has her textile company in Massachusetts, Karen Allen Fine Arts, which she created from her knitting hobby, and makes investments towards her own company and interests.
