ANDREW MCCARTHY – DIRECTOR/TRAVEL WRITER
Andrew McCarthy is one of the notable ever to come out from the 1980s Brat Pack. His acting credits mostly come from 80s coming-of-age films such as Pretty In Pink, St. Elmo’s Fire, and Weekend at Bernie’s. He also starred opposite Kim Catrall in the 1987 film Mannequin where he played the lead role of Jonathan Switcher. Outside of acting, McCarthy also added directorial credits to his name. The quintessential actor directed numerous episodes of the television series Gossip Girl, followed by the television shows Orange Is the New Black, Grace and Frankie, and Blacklist.
Nowadays, McCarthy has kept himself busy with travel writing. He has worked with National Geographic magazine as an editor and has even published a memoir in 2012 titled The Long Way Home. He married his long-lost college girlfriend Carol Schneider in 1999 and got blessed with a son named Sam. The couple has parted ways in 2005. In August of 2011, McCarthy remarried and have two children with his second wife, Dolores Rice.
