MICHAEL J. FOX – ADVOCATE AND ORGANIZATION FOUNDER

Michael J. Fox became a household name in the 1980s, thanks to the success of the Back to the Future trilogy. From here, the 58-year-old actor’s career started to bloom until he was tested positive for Parkinson’s disease. He has won multiple awards and honors such as five Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. He disclosed his condition to the public in 1998 and semi-retired from acting in 2000.

There were reports that Fox got so affected by his disease that he turned to alcohol, leading to alcohol addiction. Fortunately, he managed to control himself and avoided going on a drinking spree so he didn’t need to go to alcohol rehab facilities. Now, he is an advocate for Parkinson’s disease awareness and research to find a cure for the illness. He also founded the Michael J. Fox Foundation to help them spread the word more. He must have availed personal loans to do this when he was just starting.
