SISSY SPACEK – TV ACTRESS
Sissy Spacek turned 71 last Christmas of 2020, but the actress-singer is yet to say when she will retire from acting or if she will ever be. She just starred in the 2018 movie, The Old Man and The Gun with Robert Redford. After seven decades of receiving credits in films, Sissy is now venturing into small screen acting. She is now part of the cast of two TV series – Homecoming and Castle Rock.
Sissy started acting at the age of 21. Being an actress was not her first choice career since she initially loved singing. However, when her singing career didn’t take off, she tried acting instead. Sissy’s first acting role was in Andy Warhol’s 1971 film, Women in Revolt. However, her breakthrough film was in Carrie, where she first got her award nomination. She then won the best actress for her role in Coal Miner’s Daughter in 1980. Since then, she has established herself in the entertainment industry that made her earn her Hollywood star in 2011.
