SARAH FERGUSON – SUSAN BARRANTES’ DAUGHTER
Susan Barrantes, born Susan Mary Wright, was the mother of Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. Her family’s ancestry can be traced back to one of the royalties of the British empire. True to that, Susan spent her whole childhood around royalties and their affairs. After facing marital conflicts with former husband, Ronald Ferguson, who was then serving in the Life Guards, she began a romantic relationship with professional Argentine polo player Hector Barrantes. They were said to have eloped and maintained a ranch in Argentina.
Susan’s daughter, Sarah Ferguson, is a world-renowned writer and philanthropist, who also lived a life suitable for royalty. As a child, she took a great liking to horses and joined and won many equestrian competitions. Her title as royalty was sealed and formalized when she married Prince Andrew of Britain, and later, she earned the title of Duchess of York. Even though the couple ended up hiring lawyers to end their marriage, Sarah didn’t lose her title.
